Apparently it just wasn't cool enough that Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike are performing at this year's Wintergrass Festival in Tacoma, Washington, Feb. 22-25. The fine folks up there saw fit to invite Becky to be part of their songwriting workshop which includes the awe-inspiring talents of Pat Flynn, John Cowan and Darrell Scott!!!

Becky is weeping for the sheer joy of it all, but promises to have herself sufficiently composed enough not to drool while on stage with them.

God is good!

During the IBMA's World of Bluegrass Week, Becky became an endorsee of LouZee Lyre Banjos. She will be playing one of their open-back models at a Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike show near you! Becky Buller will be traveling to the Slovak and Czech Republics in March to perform a few shows with the Blue Velvet Band headed up by everybody's favorite Slovakian banjo player Richard Cifersky. She has always wanted to see a medieval castle while in Europe, but, alas!, she has not up until this point. She has it on very good authority that Slovakia is crawling with medieval castles. The dates will be posted on our schedule page as soon as they are available.

"In Those Mine" off of Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike's "That's What Love Can Do" BBR-017 record moved up a whopping four spaces to #10 in the April issue of Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine!  That's a big TOP TEN TUNE, good buddies!  The album is holding steady at #10 for the second month on the album chart.

Not only is this big news for VSLP, it's big news for Becky B.  This is her first Top Ten as a writer on the Bluegrass Unlimited charts.  Woo-hoo!!

Check out the March issue of Maverick Magazine, the United Kingdom's premiere voice for Country Music.  Alan Cackett wrote a lovely article about Becky on page 46.  Even cooler is the fact that it's right between pieces on Becky's friends the Abrams Brothers and hero Dolly Parton.

Thanks to the fine folks at D'Addario for offering Becky an endorsement.  She has been playing their heavy gauge Helicore fiddle strings for several years now and highly recommends them.

Minnesota Public Radio met up with the band at Famous Dave's BBQ just outside of Owatonna, Minn., last Thursday.  The interview was broadcast during All Things Considered.  Naturally, Becky—being the NPR fan that she is—is still swooning.  To listen to the interview, please click here.

March Chart Action

"That's What Love Can Do" cracked Bluegrass Unlimited's Top 10 Album Chart for March, rising up to the #10 spot.  Their single "In Those Mines" is currently at #14.

"Master's Garden" is currently at #4 on Bluegrass Now's Gospel Truths Chart.  This makes it 9 months on the chart.  Thanks, everybody!  Glad you're enjoying the tunes!  (By the by, "Master's Garden" was also at #4 on the BN Gospel Truths Chart in February.  Whoops!  Forgot to get that up here!)
