Apparently it just wasn't cool enough that
Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike are
performing at this year's
Wintergrass Festival in Tacoma, Washington, Feb. 22-25. The
fine folks up there saw fit to invite Becky to be part of their
songwriting workshop which includes the awe-inspiring talents of
Pat
Flynn,
John Cowan and
Darrell
Scott!!!
Becky is weeping
for the sheer joy of it all, but promises to have herself
sufficiently composed enough not to drool while on stage with
them.
God is good! |

During the
IBMA's World
of Bluegrass Week, Becky became an endorsee of
LouZee Lyre
Banjos. She will be playing one of their open-back models at
a Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike show near you! The
LouZee Lyres
were developed by Paul Hopkins and
Martin
Guitar historian, inlay specialist and music industry legend
Mike Longsworth, who passed away in 2003. |

Becky Buller will be
traveling to the Slovak and Czech Republics in March to perform
a few shows with the Blue Velvet Band headed up by everybody's
favorite Slovakian banjo player
Richard
Cifersky. While there, Becky will also be playing on
Richard's new solo record and visiting a medieval castle. She
has always wanted to see a medieval castle while in Europe, but,
alas!, she has not up until this point. She has it on very good
authority that Slovakia is crawling with medieval castles. The
dates will be posted on our schedule page as soon as they are
available. |

The Daughters of Bluegrass were honored with IBMA's 2006
Recorded Event of the Year award during the all-star gala event
held at the Grand Ol' Opry House in Nashville, Tenn., the night
of Sept. 28. In her haste to get to the stage, Becky nearly
knocked her date over. (He has since forgiven her.)
Marty
Raybon and
Sam Bush helped the Daughters on stage as well as bestowing
this honor upon them. Becky didn't trip, though wearing heels
and prone to gracelessness, as aforementioned. Congratulations
to all the Daughters, producers
Lorraine Jordan and Dale Perry, and everyone at
Blue
Circle Records on a job well done! |

Check out the March issue of
Maverick Magazine,
the United Kingdom's premiere voice for Country Music. Alan
Cackett wrote a lovely article about Becky on page 46. Even
cooler is the fact that it's right between pieces on Becky's
friends the Abrams
Brothers and hero
Dolly Parton. |

Thanks
to the fine folks at
D'Addario for offering Becky an endorsement. She has
been playing their heavy gauge
Helicore fiddle strings for several years now and highly
recommends them. |

Minnesota Public Radio met up with the band at Famous Dave's BBQ
just outside of Owatonna, Minn., last Thursday. The
interview was broadcast during All Things Considered.
Naturally, Becky—being the NPR fan that she is—is still
swooning. To listen to the interview, please
